A young man waits in the park for one final meeting. Having lost his mother at the age of twelve, his mind delves into his memories whilst he waits, as he seeks to piece together and rebuild his reality and himself, swimming amongst emotions, shadows and wounds.
With a rhythm and language as crucial as the plot itself, the protagonist is swept up in a whirlwind where memory, family, grief and madness swirl together, all at the mercy of time—itself a central character in the novel—where the present intertwines with multiple temporal threads that give new meaning to the wait.
The deeply poetic prose immerses us in a stream of consciousness as lyrical as it is torrential, sweeping the reader along towards all those buried emotions which, like the protagonist, we often cannot or dare not name.
